Ok folks, here's a puzzler.

just bought the camera used from a studio environment. Everything works as advertised on the camera except!

When you insert the CF card, the camera will either display the message "no card" in all modes. Or, when you put a wee bit of pressure to seat it, the access light starts blinking by the door and through the EVF, making noises as if the shutter is tripping and that's it. Nothing onthe rear LCD screen nor on the top info panel.

Trying to format the cards is not possible because in the playback mode with the "no Card" showing on the screen , there is no way to access that menu.

Took the cards to Best Buy this morning and they all check out good in other cameras.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

I was a shoor in Boston and this did happen. Here is what I did to solve the problem: camera off, take out batteries and back in again. Try this. It was the only time it happened to me.

I was going to suggest that as well...I had that happen twice before to me...First time the menu button was sticking and just needed pressed from a different angle second time it was a matter of a bad battery. I replaced all the batteries and it worked fine again.
