Wow, those are some cool pictures! Amazing... I like the missle flying across the flight deck with the guy running. And how'd he get a shot of it flying off the end of the carrier!

I like the first one. The one of the B-1 bomber over the water is photoshoped.

Very cool pictures!! More to home for me, with my brother recently earning his WINGS in the Navy. Now, to con hm into letting me get close enough to take those types of photos. (C: By the way...not that it matters, cuz it is a cool picture. I have seen the B-2 flying low over the water as a fake. Still cool though.

the last 2 pics where the missle is skipping across the flight deck are real....

The F-18 has a know problem of the missles comming off during a carrier landing. It does not happen a lot but it does happen

I saw it happen a few times and it is freaky to see in person

War never has any winners; how can there be winners when people die?

Everyone makes mistakes achiral.
There has been wars going on since before Christ was born. Read the old testiment. God stood by is people and fought for what was right. Our government made mistakes and still does, but can you throw the first stone and say you haven't made a mistake.

Wars aren't ever an appealing thing to happen, but in the face of two evils they're sometimes justified. If an aggresive nation poses a threat to your security, and the freedom and security of others, then isn't it justified to use force to remove those threats? Especially in cases where diplomacy has constantly failed?

Consider the widely held criteria for a just war:
"having just cause, being declared by a proper authority, possessing right intention, having a reasonable chance of success, and the end being proportional to the means used." ( Criteria can be found here)

Now consider this in terms of the United Nation's intentions for Iraq:

Having just cause: Going strictly on what the white house has said the following are the reasons for going to war; To protect ourselves and our allies from terror threats, to free the people of Iraq, and establish a true democracy, to enforce the usefullness of the UN

Declared by the proper authority: Well, in the United States this is the case, and we're still trying to get approval from the UN.

Possessing right intention: This is the question isn't it? I prefer to believe that our leadership has our right interests in mind, and that democracy still works.

Having a reasonable chance at success: There's no doubt we'll win, the real challenge is converting the populace to our side morally. If the Iraqi dissidents that have taken refuge in the US are any indication, then the Iraqi populace will welcome the western influence after the war.

Ends = Means: I'm sure that the american forces will use every means available to ensure that civilian casualties are limited. So any losses on either side will ideally be fighting forces, which is a reasonable end to any means in a just war.

Using these criteria (to me) it seems like this war is justified, if otherwise unappealing. I still feel that we should give Iraq about another month to totally disarm -- but I still think that war is inevitable.
