The other day I decided to put up a few pictures on DPC prints after figuring out the aspect ratio. I uploaded them and they were approved up to 8 x 10. Well today I took my butterfly picture [Fun in the Sun] to my local photo store to do a self-print at the 8x10 size to see what quality it would be. There was a couple standing behind me and they saw the picture when it finished printing. She asked me where did I get that photograph from I replied I took it and wanted to see what it looked like printed out. She began to tell me how great it looked [I was humbled] and telling her husband how good it would look in their house. She asked me [to my surprise] how much I charge for my photographs, I replied I’m not a professional; just take pictures as a hobby. She offered me $25.00 for an 8x10 and she would pay the cost of the print. I agreed and she thanked me then purchased a frame. I guess everyone gets lucky once in a while.

I know I was so surprised , I just wish I could be approved for a larger print now that I have a 5.0mp Camera.
BTW, I kept the original print that I printed and now have it framed in my house.

Congrats! You should be able to get it much bigger than that though with a 5Mp camera... have you tried interpolating up? Or using Genuine Fractals which gives you some trial attempts before you need to buy the software?

Good on ya Scott, that's great. I just read your profile and that makes it even more special. You're a lucky man to have that much love and devotion from your family.
Keep up the good work, and may you make many more sales.

Best wishes from Oz

That's absolutely wonderful - not only to sell but to actually know who is buying it and how genuine her appreciation for your work was.
Congrats!
