Just noticed that Nik is up to 5, is it worth the upgrade? I've been on 4 quite awhile and I do love my Color efex and Silver Efex

I am also still on 4 and quite fond of Color Efex and Silver Efex. I would welcome any reviews of 5.

I'm still using the version that Google gave away a few years ago.

I was, but ran into conflicts with that on a newer version (64-bit) of PSP (2022). :-/

I use those in conjunction with Luminar AI- have you tried that?

I have it, I don’t do much with it, just an occasional sky replacement for work

I'm still using the 2018 version. That sounds like a good reason to stay with it. Haven't felt any pressing need to upgrade, though Corel sends me emails about it every day. I have switched to using Luminar 4 for my RAW conversion. With several brands of cameras and a drone, I wanted one application that could handle all of them, but didn't want to do the Adobe thing. I tried Corel's Aftershot Pro but it choked on the DNG's from the drone.

I skipped AI but got and early deal on Neo. Disappointing, but maybe it will eventually get where it needs to be. I think they are based in Ukraine, which explains a lot right now. Staying with Luminar 4 for right now and it does what I need.

I updated mostly for some of the newer features, like AI for example. I've also picked up Topaz Studio and the AI plugins that come with it so I'm not missing the Nik items quite so much (still have the full Topaz suite also). I'm actually getting ready to pick up the newest PSP version because I'd really like to have the focus stacking feature they added (finally!).

The AI modules are terrific if you need/want to use them. The upgrades to Color Efex and Silver Efex aren't substantial enough to justify upgrading in and of themselves. But the Denoise AI is world-class...

Nik has a Denoise? Or are you talking about Topaz, which is a brilliant denoise

Dfine is the noise reduction component. Even the older one I use works well. Once in a while I throw a photo at it which it cant handle and no noise removal is done during it's processing. Haven't figured that out but it seems to be image specific.

Glad to see this post. Been a big Nik fan since they worked out of a garage in San Diego.
This upgrade cycle I am waiting for everyone else to suffer thru the bugs and such. Last too upgrades I was way too early and had troubles. If CEP and SEP are not much changed then I wait. Thanks Bear.

You're right. Nik has Dfine, which is good, but Topaz Benoise AI is the brilliant one.

The sky replacement blew me away, but yes, ColorFX and silverFX pro are more useful.
