Does this specifically mean the door must be closed? Just curious what people think?

I would think that they could be open.

I would expect both sorts of interpretations, open or closed, and OTHER interpretations as well, hopefully. We shall see.

ummmm... I'm confused, why would it be closed?

If you go by strict definition, it seems like it would have to be open to be a doorway. (I would think either was viable, But it floored me that you'd think closed -- it was the exact opposite of what I would have though.)

Definition of doorway
1: the opening that a door closes
especially : an entrance into a building or room

A doorway is the place through which you enter a room. Some doorways have actual doors, while others are merely arched openings into a room or building.

If you stand in your doorway watching your neighbor approach on his bike, you've probably got the front door open and you're standing in its space. The doorway to your living room, on the other hand, might be a simple arch or wide entryway. The word dates from about 1799, from door and way, which here means "space" — it's the space in a wall where a door sits.

Definition of DOORWAY (noun): the space created when you open a door.

Wendy I totally agree. I don't know why at first I thought it was about doors, but the challenge is doorways and portals, especially with a portal you can see right through it.

Unfortunately, it may not be feasible to convince Dr. Strange to open one of those multiverse portals here (and to keep it open long enough for me to get a picture).

There's a portal called the Bean in Chicago if you can get there :-)

Look at some closed cathedral doors. Look a the sub-genre of NYC brownstones doors. All closed and many magnificent.

Damn straight it does. Have you found one? Actually, that's a dumb question; you and LoVi live in one, right? :-)

That's EASY! JUst go find an apple orchard that's gone to seed and you'll find whole windfalls of apples with wormholes :-)
