What is your Kryptonite in photography.

I think mine would be Macro/micro.

Is Kryptonite a good thing or a bad thing?

I'm not sure if you're having a joke Barry .. ;)
but for anyone unsure as I was ..

from Mr Google ..
"In everyday contexts, the word 'kryptonite' is used to refer to someone's weakness or something that can be used to hurt someone who is strong. It has more or less the same meaning as 'Achilles heel'. Many tennis buffs believe that Nadal is Federer's kryptonite."

Ahh. Thanks. I was thinking of Superman and kept thinking kryptonite was a good thing for him. :-) Wasn't sure.

Portraits. I'm too shy to ask people to pose for me.

Kryptonite is TERRIBLE for Superman: it's the ONLY thing that can weaken him. He was fired into space from the planet Krypton as a baby, saved by his parents, just before it blew up.

MY Kryptonite, over the years, has been bird photography. Specifically, birds-in-flight. The only ones I can ever capture are seagulls; all the rest become blurry messes.

hey. nothing wrong with seagulls! I resemble that remark!

But...but... birds in flight are SUPPOSED TO BE blurry messes. Aren't they? Have I been doing it wrong? :-)

Landscapes. I mean really, how hard can it be? I look at it, it's pretty, I photograph it, it's incredibly boring. But what I'm seeing (without the camera) isn't boring at all.

My still lifes all turn out pretty lifeless and boring. Good macros are a mystery.

Street photography.

I *REALLY* like it.

I suck at it.

I get two or three a year that are pretty good.

Kinda of like Karma going "Nyah, nyah!"

I miss Steve Hill.

I cut out the beginning and now we have an excellent explanation of why photography is hard.

OMG Timothy .. SAME .. !! ..
in fact having an idea would be kryptonite on steroids for me .. and action just plain old kryptonite without any additives ..
i see the challenges and 99.9% of the time absolutely nothing comes to mind ..
then when it goes in for voting i realize the extent of my unimagination because i see what other ppl come up with .. i could get quite depressed about it .. ;)

I paraphrased and edited you, Roz.

Also, it's not even necessarily unimagination, but that my brain just doesn't decide it wants to be helpful at that point.

I can't tell you how many times I've been voting a challenge and though, "Oh, heck......I could have thought of that, why didn't I?".

Urgg done that, the most rememberable one, was a Hair challenge. For love nor money could I not think of one thing and it was when we had that huge competition going on. Then the second I opened up the challenge, I was like "Duhhh, hair and I have kicked myself for the last 3 years over it Lol

I’m so silly that I thought originally this thread was for strengths.

I lack ideas, creativity, any semblance for how to capture architecture in an interesting fashion, or street photography sense. If I could magically gain any of those skills, it would be ideas/creativity.
