I've dreamed of owning the 85mm f/1.2 or the 50mm f/1.2 for years.. And I found a steal of a deal on the V2 of the EF 85mm f/1.2 this morning - walked away with it for under $1000...
It's slower than I'd like in terms of AF (GOOD LORT! They say it's 1.8x as fast as the V1 of this lens.. That thing must be downright ponderous..) - but I'm already in love with the absolutely silly shallow DOF and b e a u t i f u l bokeh...
Just had to share this little personal happy dance with a few freinds who'd understand and maybe even care a tiny bit. LOL

| Nothing like a wide aperture in that focal length range, particularly for portraits! I've never owned one of the Canon 85s, but I do love the old, manual Zeiss Biotar 75/1.5. |
