I thought about using this for lines and circles, but dropped it into FS instead.

Wonder how it would have done in Lines/Circles....

Melethia - I like the outtake a lot - the concentric bowls are just awesome.

Deb I don't think that your outtake would have done better than your post.
The fact that some commenters wrote that it would have done better they did not specify what mark they would have given.
Each time I vote in a challenge the fact that an image responds to a topic counts for me 50%. The rest is what impact the image has on me, why would I look several times to it, what do I learn from it, why certain elements were picket, does it surprise me, etc...
I would have marked your outtake with 5.
and here is my feel:
- the image would have made sense if done technically impeccable for a stock image
- the background was too prominent and not that interesting
- the reflections on the bowl seem to me inexpressive

I apologize if I sound harsh. But to an honest question I give an honest answer.
I just wish that someone would comment to my images in the same way.

I did not like much any of the images posted in that challenge. For me the most interesting that I marked 7 was this one:

It had a very novel idea, the way I looked at it.

This was nice also but not that original.

Same goes for my post.
We cannot produce excellent pictures all the time, nobody does. Just my two cents.
I am here to learn

Thanks to all! The part I enjoy most about DPChallenge is the incentive to get out and shoot. I will "look" for shots that are just out there in the wild, and on occasion try to create some. I'm a bit better at the former than the latter. In this case, I liked both the one I entered and the one I didn't. I appreciate the inputs - thank you all! (PS - to mariuca, the harshness of the background is from the fact it's my concrete back door step. I liked it marginally better than the slate tile in the front courtyard. Granted, not your best choices for backgrounds.... ha!)
