For those of you who are in the right zone and are lucky enough to have a clear sky tonight, we've just put up a 48-Hr speed challenge for the Lunar Eclipse. Enjoy!

ETA: Note that this challenge is Standard Editing but we have flagged it to allow time-lapse images for those that want to give that a try. Normally time-lapse images are not allowable in Standard Editing.

An alternative for the people outside the zone would have been nice

Checks weather forecast, thunder storms all night.
Sounds about right.

Speed Challenges are sort of what they are, they often do not apply to a lot of people for one reason or another. How about creating a cookie that looks like the moon and a background you can work with? :-)

Its also a blood moon tonight, and full. I have seen some good photos with a piece of baloney on a window! =)

In fact, I think Bear did a food thing on a window eons ago

In the right zone, but will be sleeping, regardless of the weather. :-)

Uh, a lunar eclipse can only occur at the Full Moon ... the exact color depends on what pollutants are in Earth's atmosphere during totality.

BLOOD MOON:

The phenomenon whereby the moon in total eclipse appears reddish in color as it is illuminated by sunlight filtered and refracted by the earth's atmosphere.
The ‘blood moon’ will last about an hour.

Well , round of applause for the leading lady Clouds, and a side note to Haze who also made an appearance.

Bear, I think it was an onion slice on your sliding patio doors

Clarity on time lapse please.

Do I have to use every photo in the time lapse? Or can I do all the layers then just shut off a layer, is that acceptable? Like can I use them all but only show what is in focus?

You'd be insane to use all of 'em. They'd all overlap and cancel each other out visually. Cherry-pick 'em, and good luck :-)

Thanks for clarifying!!
