Traveling to Boston tomorrow to do battle with a fire breathing printer. I expect to have some time Wednesday and Thursday evening if anyone lives there and is available for a GTG.

I'm picturing a scene similar to the "furnace fighter" bit in A Christmas Story, LOL. Steve, covered in toner, swearing away as he does battle with the printer!

In a friend's high school's copier room there was a cartoon showing a printer/copier with sheets flying out in all directions as a couple of guys looked on. The caption was
"It all started when we ran out of toner and used some fine-ground French-roast instead."

I have a collection of the cartoons I used to find taped over the copiers. One of my favorites shows a display screen reading "Add toner, or coffee" and the caption was "Just as you always suspected, office coffee and copier toner are interchangable".

Actually have gotten away from toner based office equipment. I've been supporting industrial inkjet printers for about 4 years now, including when I was up in Chicago and met you. In this case the dealer technician has been there 4 times and can't fix it so I'm going there to provide another set of eyes on the problem.

I should have thought of you when I was in Warwick R.I. a few weeks ago! Maybe you could show me some of that wonderful seaside you have there? My flight is due to land at Logan between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. So probably 3:30 before I can get out of Boston.

That's all assuming AA has things running on time by now. They've had a lot of delays due to laying off all their flight crews a few months ago.

Yep, a couple months ago. New-build townhome in the woods.

You moved? We were just camping at Nickerson a month ago and thought to get in touch to pay a visit. But...you know...the three kids have eaten my brain/energy.

Yo_Spiff, I likely won't get down to Boston this week, but if you are interested in visiting the North Shore (Salem/Marblehead/Nahant area), I'd love to meet up and show you around. Lots of good photo sites (not that anyone would guess by my submissions). Thirty-minute commuter rail train out of North Station (TD Garden) if you don't have a car.

Thanks. Heading back to Tejas tomorrow however, and didn't see your response until now. I'll keep it in mind for when I get this way again. Often my field missions are with only a few days notice, like this one, so no telling when that might be.

I usually have a rent car, except for trade shows and I am typically too busy during those to do anything bu work ans sleep.
