Yes, please. Stripes are good.

Except this description is asking us to take a picture of something that has stripes.

Wouldn't it be enough to just say take a (creative) photograph of some stripes?

Funny how a challenge description can be fine for several previous runs, but nowadays we have to change them? What's wrong having a challenge description? Although I do agree with Penny in that it would be easier to say "They can be thick, or thin, straight or curved, your challenge this week is to creatively photograph some stripes."

On the other hand, we take a challenge suggestion that has a one liner description and it gets turned into:
"Mannerism" is a style of art that developed in the sixteenth century as a reaction to the classical rationality and balanced harmony of the High Renaissance; it is characterized by the dramatic use of space and light, exaggerated color, elongation of figures, and distortions of perspective, scale, and proportion. El Greco and Tintoretto are two major artists who were mannerists. You may (and should) google the topic for visual examples of mannerism. Your challenge is to bring this sensibility to your photograph.

Change as a consequence of previous experience is often a good idea.

I don't know about this particular case, but descriptions as often applied here sometimes serve only to limit people's creative explorations, which, if we are considered to be promoting "artistic" photography as opposed to product photos or photojournalism, would seem to be a bad idea.

Stripes…. "They can be thick, or thin, straight or curved, your challenge this week is to creatively photograph some stripes."

Perfect! Let’s do it!

Mannerism…. It may be one way to go but IMO, it’s a bit much of a description for sure.
