From his Facebook page, someone posted the following:

"Unfortunately, Robert has been in sharp decline since last Thursday. In is anticipated that he may pass within a week's time. His beloved Dolce is constantly by his side keeping guard over him. Please keep Robert in your thoughts and prayers"

I'm not sure what happened, but it appears it may have been a stroke.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I met him on a DC GTG many years ago and we all had a great time. I remember he kept stopping to take pictures of buildings that caught his eye downtown. Good memories. I'll keep him and his family and friends in my prayers.

Dang! I hate to read about things like this. :( Was just looking through his portfolio and he has some amazing work (especially the studio setup type images). Might be time for another "In the style of" challenge?

Fingers crossed...

Very sad news indeed. Met Robert at a GTG in New York in 2010, and we've been Facebook friends for many years...

I'm so sorry to hear this. He's made a warm impression on many members, and certainly throughout his life. Peace and grace for him and his family, his friends and all those he has touched. Still hoping.

banmorn Here's the link to Robert's profile. He's an excellent photographer and a long-time DPC stalwart. I'm deeply sorry to hear this news :-(

Here's one of his from 10 years ago: he's a wizard with post-its :-)

And here's one of his most recent entries, from last Halloween:

Robert is one of the real gems of the DPC community. It was a pleasure to have him as a real friend, although never meeting in person.

Robert has been battling cancer for a year. He passed away last night with his beloved dog Dolce by his side. I'm so deeply saddened.
