This photo scored a rather poor 5.2857.

What interested me however is that it received no votes lower than 4 or higher than 6. I don't ever remember seeing a voting pattern like that before.

That's one way of saying your photo has universal appeal ... :-)

I have not seen a band of voting so narrow.

I scored you a 6. I liked the shot and thought it would have scored higher in a different themed challenge. I often do the same as you. I shoot during the month for a specific themed challenge. If it doesn’t work or I take another picture that I like better for that subject I will use it in the Free Study. I don’t often specifically shoot for a Free Study challenge. That’s probably one of the reasons I don’t do very well in them:( There are usually some amazingly good pictures in Free Study. This month was no exception.

I really like little sculptures like this, and you've captured its detail and tone very well. I find the overall tone a bit flat though, and I wonder if shifting the background to a much darker shade (midnight blue?) would make the bike pop out even more.

My attempts to darken the background didn't produce a satisfactory result, so I tried brightening the bike.
