Post your outtakes from the Windows (the glass kind) III challenge here.

Though this finished over 50%ile (just) and I'm usually quite happy with that, I admit to being disappointed this time. I fell in love with this little series - the vote has not changed my feelings :)

- entry

But would one of these have done any better?

I would have voted higher for 04, simpler.

Thanks, Margaret. That's actually my least favorite . . . but one of my friends whose opinion and artistic sense I value highly, picked it, too. Appreciate knowing that it's because it's "simpler", too; ironically, that's probably the reason I walked away from it, too . . . it feels almost flat to me and lacks the depth of the other three.

I like the middle one of your alternatives... but not a whole lot more than I like your entry.

I don't know why it didn't score higher.

There were lots of cool and creative entries for sure. I think I was personally surprised (when I took them and later processed them) by how much punch the colored insulation panels packed. And I don't know that I've ever seen a building clearly under construction as the focal point of a challenge entry here, so I thought it was kind of unique. I think it's the fact that the voters found it ordinary and meh (almost a dead average score) instead of at least a little interesting that puzzles. Oh, and I don't usually have "outtakes" - mostly I have one entry and I plunk it in. But this time I had options, albeit very similar ones; so I thought I'd take advantage of this forum feature.

I think processing could have added more "punch"... seems a bit lackluster, since you asked.

Not sure how I'd process them, but maybe more contrast and definition?

If you don't mind, I think I'd have submitted it more like my edit of your image.

If you DO mind, PLEASE let me know and I'll take it down immediately.

I really like the composition on the one you entered. The angles and the grey, top and bottom, work well for me.

Absolutely do NOT mind, Lydia.
So brighter?

I do have these for sale along with thousands of other images that have never sold . . . Always looking for ways to improve them and make them jump out to someone who might come across them randomly.

Thank you, Penny. I did like the balance of shapes in that one.
