no gas station near me to go and take a photo (I live 10 miles out of town), but the closest one in Great Barrington MA is $2.1299 for the cheap stuff.

This is an interesting idea :) I think I need to add a photo of current gas prices to my 'my town' series...

...and I just got home after passing umpteen gas stations along the way! Brookshire's grocery store in Quinlan TX had regular unleaded for $1.86 a gallon...the cheapest around here that I've seen lately.

I paid $2.699 this morning. (By the way, what's the deal with gas stations always listing prices as X.XX and 9/10?)

PS. I'll post a pic later.

Arlington, TX $1.899 for Regular Unleaded... had I seen this before I left work, I'd have taken a shot on my way home. But I'm cuddled up on the couch now, enjoying the cold weather and watching election coverage. :) I'll post one tomorrow.

Pic taken about 6 weeks ago...guess I just have a thing for gas stations. :)
reg $1.99
Octane $2.19
High Octane $2.29

Gas prices will most likely go up by a lot after the elections. This will be a good means of comparison.

I am in Arlington, Texas also. Lori are you in North or South Arlington? I am in North.

Lucky dogs...

I'm not gonna post the photo, but it was
$2.39
$2.49
$2.59
on 10/16 and I don't think it's changed much since then.

Pretty much the same across the country. I believe our European DPCr's
have a head listed on their adverts.

Why don't we all just start using alternative means of transportation? Bicycles, mass transit, wind surfing :). That'll show 'em! and probably solve a lot of our problems. More energy will be available for other uses and we won't be as dependent on mideast oil.

You don't like the idea, I hear ya say?

Don't blame me, my car gets 40 miles per gallon. :)

I filled up today and it was $2.50 for 89 octane in Dublin, CA, just East of the Bay Area. On my route to and from work there are a couple "convenience" gas stations all by themselves off of the highway that sell 89 octane as high as $2.69!!

I envy most of you. In the LA area, the lowest I could find last week was 2.35 a gallon, and this week I can't even find that. 2.40 for the cheap stuff.

Go a bit further west to Canton, NC, and the price for the "cheap stuff" goes up to $1.995.

I'm glad you posted this idea. I added it to my 'My Town' series which is intended to be enjoyable to view in the future at some point. Stuff like this is interesting 50 years down the road when people are thumbing through old albums.

I got a CD in the mail from my Aunt last week with a lot of old family photos. A couple of them were taken in 1903 :)

It's just fun to browse for me... :)

John, Those are great family shots. The old ones are really fun. Van
