A friend asked me about this, I said I would ask, as I have no idea at all how this would happen, or if it is the best way to do it. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks xox

Hi Juliet. I have some slides from the 80's priceless stuff as you can imagine. What's the best way to get a contact sheet made and then prints?

Any pro lab should be able to print slides straight to paper,at least they can here .

If you want to scan the slides first there are a couple of main methods:
- a unit which attaches to a dSLR so you take a picture of the slide under controlled conditions.
- scanners which come as flatbeds with a tray to hold slides, or there are dedicated units (e.g. "Wolverine") which can scan and save without a controlling computer.

There are also several commercial services which will scan batches (boxes!) of pictures. Some commercial labs can scan images for you as well -- depends on the local market I guess ...

I'd expect any of these methods to cost between $1-200 to get good quality results.
