When using a Canon 480 exII speedlite (or a yungnuo flash) attached to the camera, is there a way to have the flash on for one shot then not on for the next without having to turn the flash off/on or remove the flash? For night time carnival photos, some of the performers are very well illuminated and some not very well illuminated so I would like to be able to quickly toggle between firing flash and not firing flash but have no idea if this is possible?

Anyone know the answer?

Not that I know of as I have been using this for a quite a long time and anytime when I needed to turn off flash, I was doing it so by turning off the flash. This would be a good handy feature to have a small button that would tell flash not to fire if turned on.

Thanks for the reply. I actually tested out just turning on and off the Flash last night and it was actually fine on the Canon Speedlite - I think it didn’t work so well when I tried this before with the Yungnuo flashes as they took longer to turn off and on. Canon speedlite seemed to be ready to fire immediately after turning on. So perhaps it is worth paying the premium for Canon Speedlites
