I somehow expected to see the first topic for the playoff round this morning but then I realized that we need to wait for the Tuesday challenge voting to finish before results are final. I get it.
What I don't get, then, is why we only have 1 week between the first round of the playoffs and the finals? Won't we wind up with the same issue? I see that the schedule is dated Sept. 5. Why in the finals are we not waiting the extra days to repeat the Sun/Mon and Tues/Wed challenges as before? It's the only week that's different, and not that it truly matters but when teams have established a rhythm of starting the week with a new opponent why toss a fly in the ointment on the last week?! You could have done that with the first playoff week and started it this Wednesday, ending the voting on 9/2 and starting the playoffs on 9/3, but you didn't. So why do it here?!
Figured I'd bring this up now while something can still be done about it.

| Because the losers in RD1 of finals compete against each other the next week to determine 3rd place, I believe... So all 4 teams are still competing at that point. |

I think the issue is the wednesday start date for the new round ... it should be on a monday

| I talked to Langdon. He says Season 3 was like this as well, RD2 of playoffs started on Wednesday. He says there's a script that sets up the whole season at the beginning and he doesn't feel comfortable monkeying with it so late in the Season 4 game, so it will remain as is. |

There is no official 3rd place, it was hand calculated last year and an "unofficial 3rd place" was awarded. And yes, I believe I questioned this then.
So once again, if it's still broken why fix it.

| Jake, facripesake, it isn't "broken", it just is what it is. It so happens YOU'D prefer to see a Monday start and for whatever reason, it isn't: but that doesn't equal "broken". We're happy to consider adjustments going forward, but we don't want to tweak the script so near to the end of the season because "law of unintended consequences". Can you live with that without piling shade on top of sarcasm, brother? |
