I might be blowing some hot air here...BUT is it possible that the top “scoring teams” have a play off...doesn't matter if you are top in your division but rather top percentage teams?

And for that matter have mid and low score(s) play-off at the same time...this way everyone has a good chance to be king...and everyone gets to play..

I have no idea what it would take to make this happen but the DPL season is sooo short and broken up...we just get warmed up then there’s a break....again.

League needs to be longer and more continuous. Doing 5 straight weeks is NOT a burden....

I don't think we can change anything for this iteration, but I'm sure there will be feedback when we are done which we can use to tweak the next season.

I think to be fair the "season" is structured "Round-Robin" so everyone (in a division) plays everyone else. If you really want a longer season maybe it could be a double RR so everyone plays everyone twice before the playoffs are seeded.

That seems fair...if I remember right (and mind you we had a lot more people/teams playing) but the league was much longer and consistent...

I was just was just wondering if it was possible to continue “off the record”???

There is no reason you can't continue as a side challenge, but someone would need to be the unofficial score keeper.

Is there anyone who would be interested in running the numbers/math/scoring? I can barely balance my check book...lol

Yeah yeah yeah!! I second all of this. Give us a chance to defend our title in the playoffs :PPPP

Unlucky seeding we got placed vs the Hit Squad before we got going full steam :(

I'll take a look into the scoring and see if I can work some Excel magic to make it somewhat automated.

They have knocked that into back of net for sure. Well done to them!!!

But , I do agree, it does feel like the first 2 weeks where get off your training wheels and ride a unicycle time, and then suddenly, it seems as soon as it started, it finished! =(

Respectfully ... many people in the tourney this time are returnees (like myself) and not used to submitting 2 images per week. For me, it's a lot. I think the best thing to do would be to vote on season length, breaks, playoff structure, etc and then implement whatever changes seemed most in demand.

I'm happy to have returned to DPC, but I was quickly reminded of the time commitment required to do well here. I might return for another season down the road, but definitely not if it were longer than what we're doing now.

I've been here all along and submit pretty regularly though there are definitely weeks I have nothing in voting. But I agree with hopper. The time commitment is huge - and I'm retired with no one but my husband and myself to consider. I was very glad for the break week, but am also glad the season is no longer than it is.

I do hear what AB and JulietNN and others are saying . . . my team is finally picking up a little steam, too. But I suspect the season could be half again as long or twice as long or whatever and the pattern (and finish) would be the same.

Bless you if you could make this magical happen!! I’ll be the cheerleader and help get it running...

It could be fun...and it would only be a couple weeks long (unless we decide otherwise). Most everyone is all paid up...let’s get some bang for our buck....

This is very true - I supposed I should have emphasized that being in their division to begin with was the bad luck, haha

IIRC this season mirrored the last in terms of teams, games and rounds, and I don’t remember there being any comments about extending it last time. Maybe the desire tonkeep it going has more to do with the renewed level of participation than anything?

I feel for the folks on the Darkroom Demons because they certainly could have swept other divisions. If nothing else I take pride in that, at least thus far, it wouldn’t have mattered which week we played them. We’ve had multiple people squeezing in time during moves, vacation, and other life events and still managing to knock it out of the park. As with DPL3 we manage to up each other’s game a notch or two.

There was some unofficial scoring for 3rd and 4th place last year, hand calculated. Takes a bit of time but nothing prohibitive. I’d be willing to help out if it’s not for 20 other teams.

What I had in mind was a side challenge that we could continue for a couple more weeks and compete against the other divisions more directly...

I'm totally open for discussion about how to do this and we all know the devil will be in the details...
