I have some questions about battery packs and batteries for the SB910.

1) Do I have to use recharable batteries vs regular AA batteries? They (recharables) don’t seem to last as long?
2) Which battery brand(s) do you recommend?
3) Which battery pack do you think is best and why? (Under $100). I don’t want to find out that if I spent $20 more I would have gotten a ding gong battery pack vs just a dong one...

Thank you!!!

AA batteries give you the most flexibility -- you can almost always find some for sale in an emergency. I use rechargables but keep a set of cheap (dollar-store) carbon-zinc on hand too.

I've mostly been using Sanyo (Enloop) AAs lately -- they make a variety designed to hold a charge over extended periods of inactivity. There is some pretty good technical info on batteries at GreenBatteries.com, though I haven't checked their prices lately.

Thanks guys...

Another question...there is such a wide range on the cost of the batteries - $24-200 (+)...why and which one would you choose?

I ordered the Aodelan P12 External Flash, 24 Eneloop Pro Batteries, 1 - 12 slot AA/AAA Charger.

I received them...BUT I'm not overly impressed that the "speed" is that much better than with just my flash. Am I missing something about settings? (good grief I'm gonna feel soooo dumb if I missed something).

I've read the external flashes instructions but no information about how to set up the camera/flash (Nikon SB-910).

I'm willing to put the $$ into the External Flash IF it actually recycles faster than my SB-910 would normally.

Is there a better external flash out there? The price range is huge. I thought I was going to "middle of the road"...

I'll be interested to hear what you have to say about it...
