Can someone explain these bullet points to me:

A team can

"substitute only one team member in a given season for another user."

"add new users to your team at any time during the season, if your team began the season with fewer than the maximum number of players allowed."

Are these two related? Since most (if not all) teams will be starting with seven players, the second point would seem to be moot. Do we now go to the first point and all teams (assuming 7 initially on all teams) can drop one and only one player and replace him or her once the season has started?

Or does the "substitute" mean we can use someone from the pool (or not) who is not on another team to "pinch hit" one time during the season?

Bullet 1) If a team player can’t participate any longer you can “replace” that play anytime during the season (this has happened to me several times)....Indian not the arrow???

You can recruit a new member (good luck...wink) or pull from the pool

Bullet 2) Currently there is only 1 team with 6 players all other teams are complete with 7....that team (Kelli’s) can add a person at anytime. Again from the pool or by recruiting (wink, wink)....

Not sure about the last question. You can’t bring in a sleeper (pitch hitter) for just one challenge...you would have to have a space on your team and SC has to approve all changes...if I remember correctly...cough.

Hope I said that right...hmmm

This all makes sense to me, Janine. Thanks. I kind of thought that was what it meant . . . but wanted to be sure.

Damn it! I shot for "holes" this week. I was just going to enter and realized I did not shoot in jpg. Can someone enlighten me on why we have to use jpg when that format is editable but raw files are not. (in other words raw files are next to impossible to mess with but a jpg can be) Or better yet why not allow both?

Ok, off to switch my camera to raw + jpg.

Holes isn't Minimal . . . it's Standard. raw is fine. Enter away. I see NO Minimal Editing challenges up at the moment.

It is the second line on the "common rules".

It just means your entry must be converted to jpeg before entering. You can shoot in RAW edit it all you like under the rule set and then you must resize it and convert it to a jpeg that is also under the MB requirements.

only minimal challenges have to only be shot in jpeg and then not altered at all except one or two things that I can't remember off the top of my head.

The image you finally upload as your entry must be a JPEG, but you can shoot and edit in any format you want and convert to JPEG as the final step, except for Minimal Editing challenges.

Wow. That is amazingly great news, thank you. I am glad I asked/bitched. I totally misread that.

For the record:

THERE WILL BE NO MINIMAL-EDITING OR EXTENDED EDITING CHALLENGES THAT COUNT FOR DPL4.

Scout's honor. Too confusing.

This makes too much sense.

There may still be Minimal or Extended challenges scheduled during DPL on Thursdays, where the scores don't count toward DPL ...

Will be interesting to see the participation levels on those challenges - both entering and voting.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm hoping it will be up from BL (Before League), but wouldn't expect those challenges to generate the interest of the League challenges. And I expect the league challenge participation to drop as time goes on - everyone can't be on a winning or even highly competitive team, and it's hard to keep the enthusiasm up when you're not. But I know I rarely enter three a week and will be making every effort to enter the League challenges to the end, so that probably means I won't enter many of the "third" challenges. We'll see.

I'm thinking those non-DPL challenges could be easy ribbon picking. :) We'll see.
