I can't seem to open images taken in Raw Format, is there something that has to be downloaded into Photoshop CS to enable this.

RAW plugin comes with Photoshop CS. But you can also download the latest version of the plugin from Adobe website. I don't know about your camera, but they always release new versions to support the known RAW formats from different makes and models.

Your camera should have come with the software.

If you are going to use the Adobe RAW plug-in, the first 4 pdfs on this page are worth a read, to get the most from the converter. There is a book by Bruce Fraser that is maybe worthwhile too - I haven't looked at it though.
