Hi: was trying to figure out what you can do in standard editing. There is very few specifics. I am from the time of Basic Editing and Advanced Editing. There is no mention of layers. They state okay to clone, but no mention of dodge or burn. No mention of global adjustments. No mention of what software is okay. I dodged an entry that is in voting stage right now under standard Editing rules. Also enhanced globally using Vivezia 2. Thinking I might be disqualified. Can anyone clear up my confusion?

Everything you refer to is OK.

It would be a very long list if we listed everything you could do. If we don't say you can't do it, then you're pretty much OK.

Best regards

To expand on Paul's response, the Standard Editing rules are more relaxed than what the old Advanced Rules were, and the SC tried to greatly simplify how the rules are stated. If the rules don't say you cannot do something, then you can. For instance, it is now OK to do focus stacking, panoramas, merging to HDR, and more. Standard is now a *very* flexible rule set.

Welcome back!

Thanks. I hope I will participate more often now that I am "retired." Quit my job in Nov. and am now pursuing my artist life full time.

LOL. I think the horse is out of the barn, eh? :-)

All good questions - if you have time in advance, you can submit an entry to SC for a type of "pre-approval", or at a minimum some advice if you're on the edge of the rule set in question.

Ha! That's funny. I wasn't literally thinking "Horse", as in subject material. Good catch there General!
