I just briefly was thumbing through my date book...

How does Saturday, November 6 sound to everyone?
We can start around 9 or 10, so we at least get some ok light in the morning.

Starting place will be Reading Terminal Market =)
10/16/2004 09:30:04 AM · #12
That sounds good to me... I'd even do earlier. I'm also thinking we could maybe start somewhere else so we can hit the Reading Terminal Market for lunch.

that works also. I was just trying to remember the info from last time we tried to get together, and I know we had agreed on meeting there. We could meet up at like Penns Landing or somewhere in Olde City, and use public transportation to get around.

Change the meeting time to like, 6-7 am?

All of the above are fine with me. If we are going to use public transportation it may be worthwhile for someone to take a firm count and pick up daypasses in advance. I'd even be perfectly happy to walk all day, but after last weekend my judgment of what can reasonably be considered "walking distance" has become a bit questionable.

Well, City Hall to Penns Landing is about 20 city blocks... Most stuff I'm imagining we'd go to falls in that area, though im sure theres ton more outside that radius we'd wanna go shoot. I hate coming up with all the ideas! lol need more feed back from parties interested.

I'm out for the day! Helicopter stunt show, then some travelling west for some Fall Foliage =) Keep this bumped, will ya terry? =)

CJ - Did I miss your post of how it went (the walk)? From the sound out this post - maybe not so good?

I was in Philadelphia last weekend - and strongly recommend Longwood Gardens as a place to shoot. Don't know about getting there using public transportatuoin though - it's a good ways out of town. If you do decide on going there - allow a whole day - or most of a day. They also only allowed tripods until noon on the day I went.

It went extremely well... I have not posted my summary yet but will do so shortly!

My point was that what I consider "walking distance," most sane people would not. ;-)

City Hall to Penns Landing is about 15 or so blocks but easily accessible by either the el/subway or a bus.

Kennett Square/Longwood Gardens is a good, long, hour plus out side of the city almost in Delaware. Love to go but it would be a trip there for the day and maybe some mushrooms in Kennett Square.

Meeting that early (6 to 7 AM) is a great idea for early morning light especially at Penns Landing. It may not be a great time for people from out of town. We could start there as a small group, maybe and set a time and a place to meet others mid morning (9-10 AM) and/or for lunch at the Reading Terminal (12-1 PM). The 11/6 date is good for me.

Ok so here is the unoffical stats right now for the Philadelphia Get Together...

Saturday November 6th
Start Time
: 7 A.M.
Meeting Place: 5th St. and Market Street. In the Park of the Liberty Bell. Meet at the Liberty Bell Entrance.

For those of you who can not make it until later, we will be having lunch at Reading Terminal Market around Noon.

Also, if anyone has any info on how to get "behind the scenes" or something like that, then please by all means get ahold of them and work your magic!

Anyone have any qualms with this?

Thinking about showing up in the morning. Any idea of a of the area
you will be covering? Sounds like it will be a little chilly too.
