I just was watching this:

phone remote and it looked kind of cool. Wouldn't want to do it all the time. But it's intriguing.

I use this function quite often. With the Canon 70D there is a Wifi function and with an free app I can control many things from a fairly far distance.. 300meter was possible.

Fuji has a similar thing but it is unstable, awkward, useless garbage. I was looking forward to the new firmware and that function and was let down big time.

I do a lot. Also awesome for street and macro. The 6D has wifi built in and I do travel a fair bit i do not need to carry a remote.

These are taken with the wifi remote from weird angles :)

I have the Canon 6D which comes with the WiFi built in. At first I thought it was just a fad option...until I went to take some photos of the Christmas tree and realized that the battery for my remote trigger was dead. So, I set up the WiFi option on the camera, connected my smartphone to it, downloaded the Canon EOS Remote app and couldn't believe how useful it was. Coupled with the live view I took the same shots I take every year in half the time.

Plus, I was easily able to view all the pictures on the card through the phone and transferred the ones I liked easily over to it.
