Take a photo where your main subject is blocked or obscured by something else. Remember, it's all about the unseen subject.

This sounds like a lot of fun

Excellent suggestion. Might we modify the description to something like:

"Take a photo where your main subject is significantly blocked or obscured by something else. Remember, it's all about the obscured subject."

I'm afraid if we run it as written, DNMC police will ding any image where you can actually SEE any bit of the obscured subject...

Your editing prowess is unmatched. And we need to let the sleeping DNMC dogs lie

I can't wait to see how many obscured shots of the full moon that show up in the gallery.

Well, not the one I took ten minutes ago ... ;-)

Though it's a perfectly valid subject -- the trick will to make it interesting and different from the other submissions.

I had a great idea for this challenge...

But my wife said "no"

So how obscured does the subject have to be?

That's for you to work out, isn't it? Everyone'll have their own approach.

I wish so but there is usually a general consensus.

who was it said " Obscurity is in the eye of the beholder." Prolly some fascist.

By no means do I have any imprimatur on what this challenge should be or how it should be interpreted, but I suggested it thinking it could be viewed a few different ways.

One, cleverly or comically hiding something.
Two, using the hidden object and object that obscures in some connected way...

However, the challenge I though twould be to make the major subject be obscured.

I am a fan of trying to meet challenges, especially one that I thought up, but I am diametrically opposed to the DNMC concept.

I for one can't wait to see the street shots that will come of this.

will a silhouette be ok for this challenge??

Everything's 'OK' for any challenge but I would expect a silhouette where the only thing obscuring the subject is the darkness on the visible side to be voted down.
