Just 2 days away! We (my daughter, her bf, his parents, and I) fly out of Detroit tomorrow morning, land in Boston an hour and a half later, then a 10 hour lay-over.....but just 6 hours after that we will be standing on the Emerald Isle. I cannot believe I am actually going. It has been on my bucket list my entire adult life, but I could never afford it. I still can't but my daughter and her bf are treating us parents with the airfare and hotels.

I am so excited. I have 2 64gb cards and am taking the laptop so I can download each night.
Hoping when I return I have the job I interviewed for.

Just had to share. Carry on now.

Ireland is so beautiful, I hope you'll have a great time there. Enjoy the magnificent scenery, enjoy the Guinnes and enjoy Dublin, it's a great place to go to!

We will be spending a day in Belfast, 3 days in Dublin, 3 days in Cork, 2 days in County Clare, and then back to Dublin for one last day before flying home.

For Belfast you may want to consider the Titanic exhibition or a tour of the murals. Shame you won't have time for Giants Causeway and Antrim coast. You must go and have a Guinness in the Crown Liquor Salon. In Belfast.

I'm from Cork! :-)

If you get the chance you should try to visit Kerry (it's right next to Cork and Clare). Very beautiful county.

Kinsale is a beautiful old fashioned fishing village not that far from Cork - you may want to think of it on a shortlist for a day trip.

I took my now wife there to pop the question...

When in Dublin be sure to block out some time for a visit to Trinity College to see the book of Kells and the old library

Have fun. Your time schedule looks too tight to visit the beautiful Skellig Islands,

but Ireland is a beautiful country!

Nice day trips from Cork are Kinsale and Cobh (Cove. There's museum in Cobh for the Titanic and Lusitainia which made their last fateful stops there.

Almost forgot. Nice cocktails at the Old Jameson Distillery. You don't have to do the tour for this :)

I agree, but it's a nice excuse for ladies who don't want to drink whiskey as it should be :)

Instead of Cork, go a little northwest to Dingle. That was our favorite place in Ireland.

The crown liquor saloon in Belfast is a must. Like Paul said, the murals in East Belfast are something to see.

We will be stopping there as The Towers are there I believe. Funny about the popping the question there - Ryan is pooping the question to my daughter in Belfast
