Anyone watching? It's amusing to watch the spectators with cameras. Also, the picture on my tv is not that sharp, which I would never have noticed if I wasn't taking pictures of the tv screen. I'm waiting for the video to get some digital blur long enough for me to get a shot of it.

Is it still the Tour de France when the race is between Leeds and Harrogate or York to Sheffield ? I thought the French lost at Agincourt.

I'm watching! Cable goes bye bye at the end of July. Will have to figure an alternative next year.

(Used the cable money to join a gym!)

I've set media center to record the whole series now...then I can pick and choose what parts to watch.

I'll post some photos tonight. I watched about 5 miles from the finish of Stage 1, a little outside the village of Ripley, and from Knaresborough, 17 miles from the start, for Stage 2. It was awesome - a great sense of atmosphere and community. Yorkshire is covered in bunting and yellow bicycles! Thank goodness for the rare sunny weekend - three hours of waiting for 4 seconds of racing wouldn't have been quite such fun in the rain....

HUGE props to England. I do believe every single man, woman and child was out to cheer on the Tour. Really quite amazing!

Wasn't that just partial recomense for Hastings? Maybe the English are hedging their bets in case the vote in Scotland is for independence ...

Here are a few photos from Stage 1. These were taken around 5 miles from the finish.

I enjoyed all your shots Sara, thanks for posting them. The decorations on the shops are a lot of fun. Looks like everyone had a great time.

Yes, thanks for posting the images Sara! I'd love to see a little bit of The Tour in person some day.

Stage 2 to come tonight, if I get home from work at a reasonable hour. It really was such a fabulously fun weekend!
