The following image was meant for the Landscape with no sky challenge, unfortunately at the last moment I thought to check the time-date, and had to withdraw. I'm guessing the picture might have scored about a 5.5 even though it was rainy and windy when taken. What do you think?

Circumstances way beyond my control have caused a pause for entering challenges, after this weekend things should improve.

Hi, I'm no expert (esp with colour photography) but it's a great scene that I think would benefit from a little more contrast (the colour seems a bit dull in places, probably due to the light) and perhaps a bit of USM?

Yes, a LOT of potential with some punchier processing...

I thought I should fill in a bit more fun information regarding this image. This is the Snake River Canyon, right about where the bend of the river on the upper right side still sits the remains of the dirt ramp Evil Knievel attempted his infamous jump in 1974.

This is a great example of a photo which could probably benefit ("make pop") from use of the "High-radius UnSharp Mask" technique -- for a DPC-sized image (800 pixels or so) try running the UnSharp Mask filter once or twice with the following settings:
Amt: 15%
Radius: 50 pixels
Threshold: 0

I'd probably also use an "S-shaped" curve adjustment layer to bring more contrast to the mid-tones, but I think it would be interesting to try the sharpening process first ...

ETA: Took a screen-shot and made some examples:
Sharpened once (using above settings): Sharpened twice:
Sharpened twice plus Curve: Screenshot of Curve:
