Unfortunately, we have had to DQ the former 3rd-place image in the "Cold III" challenge for a date violation. Please congratulate or new ribboner and honorable mentions.

Sorry for the error. I added notes to my image. My stupid mistake - I even had the date written on the image - it was taken a day before the challenge started. All I can say is that NOT being able to take my camera out every day (because of the weather here) has made it difficult for me to keep track of time. I do wish there were a way to look at exif ON phone images ON the phone like you can on a real camera. Congrats to the real winners.

If you're using iOS, there's an app called ExifWizard that's just what you're looking for...

I'd assume there are Android equivalents...

I'm glad you have solved this problem for the future. May I add that I thought your original, in color, was even stronger than the wonderful B/W. I bet people would be interested in seeing it... The contrast of warm & cool tones was is fantastic.

original, unprocessed, resized. Thank you Robert.

I'm afraid though, that to solve this problem in the future will involve getting my mind straightened out. I will download that app to my phone as it might help solve some of the immediate confusion.

Penny, also consider including the front page of the newspaper in future shots. This helps prove the date, and in some lines of work it's standard operating procedure.

I do have an app for the times... now if I can only figure out how to sync them together.

Installed. So now along with each photo I can see exif. Are you sure the image hasn't been altered and I can still use it for validation purposes?

Sorry about the mishap, Penny. It's a great photo.

Side note: I am amused that the junior SC member is put in charge of posting bad news. LOL

I am with you on this one Ken! I think our own Robert is just a messenger and since we know him, we cannot make him the point for DQ ;)

They're letting me practice, guys. I expect they'll lock me back in my cage any day now :-)

So the SC is the older children in the life cereal commercial?

Let's get Mikey Bear! Yeah -- He won't eat it -- he hates everything!

He likes it! Hey Bear!

In case you haven't seen it for awhile:

Life cereal
