Hi everyone!
Feeling a little nervous as I've never joined anything like this before - but I was persuaded by Mary Ann (flaherma) who I met on holiday last week, so here goes…..
My name's Bella, I'm a 34-year old veterinarian from Bewdley, UK. I've had my SLR for 4 years now, and have borrowed a couple of lenses from a good friend while I save up to get my own; I can never go back to the kit lenses now that I've played with the Canon 70-300 L!! Sigh.
Most of my photographs are taken while I'm on holiday as I always seem too busy the rest of the time - but today I actually got my camera out for the sole purpose of entering some challenges!
I hope to learn a lot from participating in this site - and would really welcome any feedback on my images (but please don't be tooo mean without good reason!!!).

Welcome Isabelle. Allow me to give you fair warning, this place is addictive. Hope you start entering challenges. They can't help but expand your horizons.
Secondly.....Vet's rock! Besides my family there are two things I love in life, photography and animals. Two of those animals I consider part of "my family" and no I'm not referring to my children. (smile) |

Oh I love that name!! BE AWARE of Crazy People all over.... One of them is named littlemav Ooops pay no attention to who ever wrote that!!! Seriously There are Fun an Wonderful Folks on here, and LOTS n LOTS of things to learn!! Don't be afraid to ask for advice, we only charge by the min.. Ok sorry again...

Welcome to DPC! We used to give out fruit baskets but there were near riots when I ran out, so now it's popcorn. Can be very enjoyable in the forums. No shortage of entertainment in this place. Best of luck to you in your adventures here.

I think you mean DNMC...that means 'does not meet challenge.' That's entering a photo that in no way at all meets the challenge description. For example if, in a challenge entitled Cats, you enter a photo of a dog, no matter how cute - it doesn't meet the challenge. It's DNMC. Now if the dog is shown with a cat, you will probably be fine.
BTW are you large or small animal? I may pepper you with questions about ALT levels in older cats, so brush up on your liver enzymes ;-) |

Welcome.. The inmates run the asylum around here, as you can see. ;)
The best thing about this place is the people.. Tons of knowledge, not just photography knowledge, and a great set of personalities.
Don't hesitate to speak up, jump in, ask questions.. Challenges may seem scary at first, but just remember that almost all of us lose almost all of the time, so you'll be in good company, or you'll be on top.. Either is good. :) |

haha I doubt I'll ever see the top - I've spotted how many pros there are around…eek! But it's nice to have plenty of crazy company ;-)
