You did a good job of keeping the unwanted highlights and hot spots down but to me, I don't like the way you have the important part of the bar, the name, in shadow compared to the upper right half of the bar. Light areas attract and it is the case with this, my eyes keep sliding from the name up to the right end. For product shots you want the viewer to focus on the important part of the images, which usually is the name.

Nice set up though.

When I look at each of these shots my eye is drawn to the twists of wrapper at the ends which distract me from the "product". It's perhaps because you have cropped the image so tight, but I think it's their orientation upwards, which just looks unnatural.

Me too, they somehow seem to dominate the image.

Maybe twist them down somehow and elevate the bar about a half inch.

Theirs has almost no shadow or bright highlights. Maybe try adjusting yours with highlight/shadow setting in photoshop or by using a fill light filter (e.g. in topaz detail).

xml5000 I think it's just the angle of the twists, They probably have a "twist angle specialist" to look for that LOL... You def don't suck at this!

I dunno. Looks a bit flaky to me.

The Flake shot looks real to me. It appears to be very evenly lit, cleaned up a bit, then cut out and put on some other background.

The people I know who do small product photography use these a lot. At the very least, it would be simpler than what you're trying, and simple is good when you're learning. You can build your own out of a box and some tissue paper, but they aren't that expensive to buy.

Have you gotten a copy of Light, Science and Magic yet? It's well worth the money and time spent reading and working with it.
