My brother-in-law was low on funds for his daughter's wedding so I jumped in for the rescue for free with the mutual understanding that you get what you pay for. So, no pressure.

I decided to set up my own version of the traditional cheesy "photobooth" after the cake cutting, etc and well into the drinking. I set up my lasonite hilite, stuck a couple of bees in it, set the camera on the tripod with an off camera flash and a table next to it with a cheap Canon Selphy. The bride was led out of the room before I set up and the wedding crowd was told to take turns writing messages to the bride on a whiteboard. OMG! I had 30 people in line at one point, everybody was having so much fun! Most of them came around a second time to get a print for themselves. I already have 2 inquiries for future PAYING jobs :D

I'm looking for suggestions for a better printer with pictBridge and one that will print on magnetic paper. I'm trying to keep it under $500 but that's flexible. Also, battery power would be nice and if I didn't have to plug it into my camera every damn time I need to print, that would be nice too. I've been wanting something to bring to local sporting events too, I'm also adding rugged to the mix. I know there are event photographers on this site...

Does such a machine exist?!

Here's a few pics (excuse the light issues, I think I've got those addressed):

PS, the wedding pictures came out nice too, so all in all a great night :D

Looks like a corking good time was had by all! Not just the photobooth idea, but whoever came up with the cheesy costume-prop theme deserves kudos :-) Weddings-on-the-cheap-R-us!

I really like the marker board where people can write whatever they want to the couple. Great personal touch that may have more impact in the visual form than the written form in a card.

Oh, hey, thanks guys! I thought this thread got lost forever like a week ago. :) Now I have an excuse to bump the original question.

Basically, I need a really rockin' portable printer for event photography... any ideas??
