The results of the 'Cats' challenge have been recalculated, due to the disqualification of the former 2nd place entry for failing to provide a valid original within the required timeframe. Congrats to our new ribbon winners!

Who exactly are these cats that are challenging the results? Stand up and make yourself known.

The top 5 finishers automatically get requested at the end of each challenge.

Well, you do have to check the box EVERY time you submit a photo for a challenge. You can't even submit without "acknowledging" it.

From the current challenge entry page for 'Doors, Gates, Knobs, Locks, Handles, and Windows' (bold emphasis added):
"I submit that my entry was based on photograph(s) taken with a digital camera on or between Oct. 11th 2013 and Oct. 17th 2013. If requested, I will provide the unedited, original file from my digital camera within 48 hours. I have followed the Minimal Editing rule set, taking into account any extra rules listed above.*"

naw... I knew it was for that challenge. I just didn't bother reading the post -- I thought he was talking about cats, and I just skimmed it. :)

Well, heck! :-P "I just didn't bother reading the post ..." ???!

Good thing you've read those instructions next to the checkbox I mentioned on numerous occasions. :-D

The point I was trying to make is I don't see why people automatically think that a newbie, that makes the Top 5, should automatically get the "oh, maybe they didn't know" card played. The rules are right there, AND it's setup so you can't even play without acknowledging them. That's all.

Yeah...wtf is it exactly with noobs who ribbon!? So annoying to see good stuff from a new photog ribbon, then they promptly shoot themselves in the foot by failing to produce the original. Then usually they vanish.

...and I would argue that a good percentage of people don't read the fine print on the majority of documents they sign.

I know I do and you would be surprised at the looks and comments I get when I do take the time to read the documents in question. Comments like "that is just administrative mumbo jumbo", "it's a general clause contained in all such documents" and "everyone signs these" are pretty much the norm.

I read mine, strike out what I don't agree with and if they don't like it, then I take my business elsewhere.

How many here actually read all of the documents when you purchase something from Adobe or some other entity... not many I bet.
