I have a store warranty and a maufactures for a Minolta. I have had it in for repair twice in six months the latest time was a fault of my own. Which I admitted too now they want $260.00 for repair? I was uder the impression even if it was a fault of your own the product would be replaced or repaired for free with the extended warrany? Anyone had similair problems? Cheers Paul

usually in the warranty "disclaimer" it'll list what is covered and what is not. usually things like, dropping it, kicking it, stepping on it, dropping it in water, etc etc etc. are not covered under any such warranty that i know of.

Wow! Talk about a misunderstanding! I have not laughed this hard in a very long time btw! I kept thinking no way would anybody really have a thread like this and not have it removed, thought maybe black bears were a problem for you in getting a good outdoor challange pic (had a problem with dogs myself). Anyway, completly off your topic but thought this was hilarious. :)

Try taking it to another location of Blacks, and don't tell them that you are to fault for this!!

Hmmm - that might work, but then.....it's possible that all Blacks stores send cameras for repair to the same office, and they might track what's already been received and processed.

extended warraty is supposed to cover costs even if a fault of your own?

Maybe this will be of help you. I was not able to find any details of the Black’s Photography extended warranty programme of the web, so maybe you need to call their customer service staff and discuss it and seek clarification. Al references to the extended warranty said, “ see the store for details”.

Black’s statement reads as follows: Our commitment is to earn your
business by doing what is right for you - every time!
