Probably won't do much beyond this, if even that much.

I think this is a wonderful challenge theme. I'm annoyed with myself for not having got up off my butt for this one. And I'm disappointed there are so few entries, in part because it seems unlikely that this theme will ever be revived. Voting later, btw.

Didn't work out quite as I'd visualized, so performing about as expected.

I really enjoyed voting on the images.

You have given an average score of 6.7015

I'm not good at architecture and I have to say after viewing the images I'm inspired to go out and try my hand at it.

Are permits required for all buildings or certain ones? Where do you get permits?

Yes. In Canada, it's The Ministry of Permits.

Pemits.... I think that is only for recognizable buildings .......i.e. the flatiron bldg in newyork

If you want to profit from them, yes. The designers deserve some money if you are selling an image of their work. if you want to take pictures for somewhere like DPC, then no. You will get security guards telling you that you can't, but you can. Anything you can see from a public space, you can photograph.

Copyright in architecture in the United States
", two other important limitations apply when registering a design as an "architectural work". First, when a building is ordinarily visible from a public place, its protection as an "architectural work" does not include the right to prevent the making, distributing, or public display of pictures, photographs, or other pictorial representations of the work.[13] Thus, the architect will not be able to prevent people from taking photographs or otherwise producing pictorial representations of the building"

I'm very sorry to have derailed the thread with a lame attempt at humor. I honestly was only trying to make a joke.

If I remove the other info it'll be less cryptic, but it's still lame. I wasn't talking about photography. Anyway...

hey, no harm in injecting some actual informational content into these otherwise trivial discussions of scores ;-) i've had questions like this myself, esp when considering posting building photos to my personal art sales website.

now back to your regularly schedule scores thread...

I am stalled out at 87 votes - pretty low for 1 1/2 hours before the end.

I wish I had stalled a bit earlier; every single vote coming in is lowering it! :(
