Busy time for me with senior portraits. Needless to say I get tired of the usual settings. Got online and searched around for some new ideas and found this website. This studio is wonderful and creative with their portraits. Thought I would share it with DPC.

funny...I find some of it very good but others a complete 180, like they hired someone from a circa 1989 glamour shot studio... |

Thank you so much!!!
I have to do a senior portrait of my girl:
(I thought about just sending out this one, but I probably shouldn't...)
I really haven't had ideas, but you just gave me one to play with. She's into writing -- instead of having her artwork behind -- having one of her poems enlarged and projected behind and then a high contrasty b&w could be really fun.
Ok -- just talked to my husband about the reality and how to do this, and he's not sure of the composition (messy) and the setup is complicated.
Hmmmm...

This is something I've been wanting to get into, but I just don't know how to get started. Do you have any advice on where to advertise, how to connect, etc?
Thanks! |

Great idea. Do it in post and fade the bg. |

I agree, the seniors I get want to avoid that look! I found this website recently Senior Style Guide which shows a lot of the current trends. There are some great images there, and a few that are ok.

I started out with a few business cards, a small studio and word of mouth. Soon I was swamped. Mostly friends of friends and etc. Its really overwhelming at times, so be sure you have the time, these kids cannot take no for an answer. |

With teens -- word of mouth probably is the best thing. Do a couple and impress the parents. If you get the right ones, the parents all talk to each other.
