Achiral: Just for fun, have you tried the Win XP Photo printing wizard? As long as I had my print driver set up for photo quality (In fact, I have more than one printer set up on my machine, all pointing at the same device, but with different print profiles, so I just select the one I have set up for Photo Quality), the photo printing wizard did all the scaling/interpolation and all that for quick prints at high quality.
I am trying to find some other piece of freeware/shareware that does a good job of photo layout, however, and I am accepting all advice.
BTW, I do NOT have the 9000. I have an old HP 932C which does fine so far, but with more and more good shots coming out of the D100, I am considering going with a good photo-centric printer like the 9000.
Which leads me down this path: It sucks that you guys are having trouble with this printer. Steve's Digicams absolutely loves it, and I'm very inclined to trust that site's reviews.
I'll be watching this thread to find out what you all have to say.
Best,
Mark
