I have a 1GB CF card so I sometimes have to copy around 500 photos from the camera to my PC via the USB cable.

The problem is that the camera seems to shutdown about half way through copying the photos.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks, Dave.

You probably have 'auto turn off camera' turned on to save battery power. You can disable this in the menu :)

Better yet, spend $12 on a CF card reader and eliminate the battery drain on your camera. :)

That would be sooo much faster to transfer the photos too.

Yup - with a 512Mb card on a D60, it takes about 20-30 minutes using the camera as the card reader, and about 2-3 minutes using a USB 2.0 card reader ($15).
