I have a shoot lined up for tomorrow. I have looked everywhere, and I am having problems finding a cool, urban scene, preferrably in Fort Worth, Texas that would be nice for doing a modeling shoot. If you know of any, or even any around that area, would you please tell me?

The "Epper" wall in the Stockyards is pretty good. This is on the south side of the Isis theater on main street.

On the west side is a nice set of turquoise painted metal doors.

There is a good fire escape just on the other side of the street about a 1/2 block north, and I frequently see photographers doing couples portraits there.

If you don't object to a bit of risky behavior, you could sneak into the ruins of the Swift meatpacking plant.

Lots of other good stuff around the Stockyards. What sort of shoot?

This place is hidden right on the river next to downtown. Hard to find unless you know exactly where you are looking. Easiest to show you on a map if you are interested.

Thank you so very much! I seriously appreciate this.

I'm just doing a modeling shoot this time around. The last one is very, very beautiful. Sparks my interest to know where it is at and why I have never seen or heard of it before.

Under the main street bridge has some potential.

Saunders park is hidden and has a tunnel which goes underneath exchange avenue in the stockyards. You won't know it's there unless you are shown or stumble across it. Lots of great potential in that location.

It is in heritage park, at the north end of downtown. Do you know where the downtown TCC trailhead is, at the northern base of Taylor street? Park there and walk eastward along the gravel trail, towards the main street bridge. You will find that abandoned building just a few yards up, hidden in some trees on your right. Homeless people will often stay there, so be cautious.

Wow, I seriously didn't know any of this existed. I'm really thankful. Do you generally shoot around this area?

All the time. Are you just visiting, or do you live here? I see you just registered on DPC today and have been voting a bit already. Welcome aboard.

Thank you. I live about 45 minutes away from Fort Worth. My dad is actually the one who has gotten me started with photography, but unfortunatly he lives an hour and a half away from me and has left me with knowledge of only his area. He has a DPC but I unfortunately have never payed attention so I have no clue how to work this. I was just seriously in need of help, and I knew this was probably my best shot at getting any so late in the game.

Here's an aerial view of downtown with a red circle to show you where that abandoned building is located. The circular area at the north end of taylor street is a parking lot. Make sure you have change for the parking meter.

Would he be an active enough member that I might know him?

I will definitely be trying my hardest to find that tomorrow. Again, thank you.

Grog might know him :)

Possibly. I do believe his username is Wannabgood, or something similar to that. Although, I can't find him... he posts a lot, typically every day. I'm just not sure of which forums he's most fluent in.

The username doesn't ring a bell with me.

Good luck with your model shoot. Post a link to some pics here, I'd like to see them.

He owns DB Custom. I'm not sure if maybe that would ring a bell? I know he posts a lot of his pictures in forums, and I know that he's posted one of me once but I can't find him. He may have deleted his account for all I know

I definately will! Just please remember I'm kinda new at this, so they may not be as great as others on here. But I would love tips on how to make them better.

He's probably on some other photography forum. There are a lot of them.

Welcome to DPC. This is a great place to learn how to improve. Just put on your thickest skin when you enter challenges. I won the grand prize in a city photo competition last year, and that winning shot came in dead mediocre here on DPC.

I'm pretty confident he's on here. He actually suggested that I join so I can participate in the contests to become better. I'm looking forward to entering my first one, although the rules give me a minor headache.

I would love to include a link. However, this site will not let me. My model didn't show, and the places you suggested are a tad different now-a-days. Due to different seasons, the abandoned building isn't quite so breathtaking, and it also does have someone living in it. The turquoise doors have been partly painted over with a much uglier bluish-green as well.

Oh, well. You tried. A lot of the appeal of my shot is in the use of a wideangle lens and the post processing. The shot I showed you earlier is actually my best shot of the building as a whole. Here's some of the others that I haven't been as thrilled with:

Well, if you go to flickr and search allyboo7 you should be able to see mine. I only have bibble, so there's not much I do as far as processing, I tend to keep things pretty natural looking.

Going for a look. I use the same screen name on Flickr.

Not finding you on Flickr. Here's my own photostream, so you can just add me to your own contacts. //www.flickr.com/photos/yospiff/
