The results of the 'Feast III' challenge have been recalculated, due to the disqualification of the former 4th place entry for being taken outside of the challenge submission dates. Congrats to our new honourable mentions!

it was a 48 day challenge for a day or two. but when reading the DQ reason, it stated that it had to be taken AFTER the challenge was announced.
that really sucks.
sorry Marko

ETA: looking at his pic, it says it was taken the 22nd. which was the day it was announced.
I can't see EXIF info on my phone... so I'm not sure about the time.

Submission dates - Nov 22 2012 - Nov 26 2012

EXIF date - Nov 20, 2012

Actual Date - Nov 22, 2012

My response - Stupid camera... Lol.

Welp rules are rules... Sucks but I guess it's lessons learned. Time to go fix my time and date on the camera.

Well if it says anything, my freestudies still says I was within the month. Lol!

That sucks dude, sorry. I'm gonna go check my camera date now!

"Due to your 2nd disqualification in your last 25 entries, you are hereby suspended from submitting to challenges for a period of 1 week. If you have any subsequent DQs in your next 25 entries, you will receive increasing penalties, so please read the challenge rules carefully!"

Damn it... Lol!!! I forgot I self DQ'd one for getting like a 3.8 mid way through... Lol.

Again, oh well. I'll get over it. ;)

Self-DQ counts towards the penalty? - Strange, I'd have thought rules violations yes, but having a self-DQ count towards it seems harsh.

Well it's not as harsh as you may think because they warned me prior to giving me the self DQ that it would count towards the "2nd DQ in last 25 submissions: 1 week suspension of submission privileges" rule.

So it's not as bad as it sounds. Besides... I'm on crutches anyways so I guess it's a good time for me to be DQ'd. Lol.

Just out of curiousity, why was your camera time set two days off. Another time travel juxtaposition?

I don't really know... Apparently though, my camera has always been two days off... The very first photo I took with it is two days off..

I'm such an idiot. Lol.

Well I guess I can be the example for what not to do...

HEY EVERYONE... GO CHECK YOUR TIME AND DATE OF YOUR CAMERA!!! Lol.

you should still be able to enter, technically your dq should have been from when feast finished voting, not today...

Sucks, dude. But your photography's coming along really nicely, and you learned a valuable lesson, and you're being a good sport about it. Well done!

Thanks! :)

And about being a good sport.. I really have no choice. Lol. Rules are stated pretty damn clearly about this whole "date" thing. Can't fight rules that say "NO exceptions." Lol.

First let me say that I, too, so admire your acceptance of both the DQ and the suspension. Even though you "have no choice" as you say, others have gone on and on ad nauseum explaining just why they should be the one to get an exception or why the rules should be changed now that their DQ points out the flaw. I've been a member less than a year, but I've learned to detest those threads and to admire those where members accept DQ's and suspensions with grace.

Secondly, that the self DQ counts toward a suspension has come up before in threads and it makes perfect sense to me. If there was not a penalty for a self DQ, we'd all run around pulling entries that were doing poorly (by our own standards) and that would wreak havoc with the voting system. With a penalty in place, members are much less likely to use the self DQ for this reason (though I would hope most would still invoke the penalty on themselves if they realized they had inadvertently broken editing rules).

Such class! I'm impressed.

I'm bummed, though, for you... I had that happen to me. Not fun.

I fully agree with both items. I think it's great how you accept the DQ and suspension and I also think that a self DQ is to be seen as a normal DQ. Otherwise I would have requested removal of half of my submissions LOL!
