I wonder if anyone knows the details... The grace period for upgrading Photoshop CS3 & CS4 is coming to an end on Dec. 31st... Which leaves me wondering:

At present, I'm using CS5.0. So I can upgrade to CS6.0. However, I prefer to wait, and don't know what's going to happen after Dec. 31st. As far as I can remember, users will then only be able to upgrade a whole number (equating to a two year cycle). Do you know if that means I will be able to upgrade from CS5.0 to CS6.5... I chatted with a support tech yesterday (who seemed clueless). He said I will be able to upgrade from 5.0 to 6.5, but I have no confidence in his answer & wondered if anyone here has any info?

Thanks!

The upgrade price that is changing is when going from CS3 or CS4 to CS6. The upgrade price for CS5 to CS6 will not change on that date according to an e-mail I got from Adobe.

Thanks for the replies. Yep, you never know if Adobe will go bung and there won't be a 6.5... But let's assume there will.

I'm not worried about the price of the upgrade, but its sheer availability (as a user of CS5.0). Before Adobe introduced the grace period, those with versions previous to 5.0 would have had to purchase a new full version... So it's nice that they changed that... until Dec. 31st rolls around...

And yes, I don't know how soon 6.5 will roll out. But when it does, do you know if people with version 5.0 will be cut off (so to speak)

--I'd prefer not to fall into that group

Thanks!
