Went to the rally of Germany this weekend and managed to visit only three stages. Bad weather and buddies who drink to much are to blame. :)
Critiques, remarks, questions are very welcome.

Anyway, here are the first three shots that I processed, more will follow at //www.pbase.com/azrifel.

Sebastian Loeb, Citroen Xsara WRC, rally winner, championship leader @ St. Wendel SS24. He also set the fastest time.

Petter Solberg, Subaru Impreza WRC, 2003 champion, Pantzerplatte Sprint SS11. Minutes before he crashed out of the rally.

Freddy Loix, Peugot xxx WRC, St. Wendel SS24. Best bangs from the exhaust.

Wonderful shots. Being able to shoot a rally event is probably my fantasy photographic dream.

shutter speed too fast - last 2 looks like the cars are parked. maybe have some head-on with dirt / mud?

Still nice though.

Great stuff, wish I had made it!

Petter's wreck on Panzerplatte made me cringe... I'm so relieved to see that Phil made it out relatively unscathed.

I hope to make it out to Deutschland for next year's event!

This is one of my shots from the Susquehannock Trails ProRally here in the US back in June:

Thanks for the nice comments, I've uploaded some more to the pbase site.

Faidoi, your best chance would be next year's rally of Mexico? I think that a "World" Championship should race more outside of Europe or simply race more and include the USA or Canada. I know that there are some great areas to organize such an event.
My personal favourite would be Sweden, because it is a snow/ice rally, but I have never visited it.

Yup, that was my main problem as well. One of the causes was that I was at the entry of a slow corner at the Pantzerplatte. The cars slowed down so much and I misjudged the shutter that I needed. At the St. Wendel stage it went a lot better, but the shots near the yellow sign were at a corner exit while the shot of Loeb was at a place where they gained some speed again. My shutter speed was between 1/200 and 1/300s. What speed would you advise? My focal length at the St. Wendel stage was app 200mm.

Unfortunately no dirt, it was an asphalt rally. :)
Here are two other ones that I like. The Hirvonen shot was the only one with a movement-look from the Pantzerplatte. :(
