| can any one tell me what I will need (adapters or what) to be able to connect a sync cord to the 10d? |

The manual does describe exactly what you need to connect. I had the same question and had some hot shoe attachment that allowed for the connection of a sync cord. That was rather awkward and so I read the manual. Colour me stupid when I found the answer - only then the doubt will set in once again because there is a polarity issue. Fortunately for me it all worked out but just make sure that the 10D manual and the manual that came with whatever is on the other end of the sync cord agree on the polarity.
Sorry, I'm not any clearer but my manual is in my camera bag. And that's locked away right now. |

You shouldn't need anything special. Just connect the PC cord to the PC sync port on the side of the 10D.
The only issue is the lighting equipment attached to the sync cord. If it uses high-voltage on the PC cord, you may want to consider adding a Wein Safe-Sync in-line with the sync cord to prevent any excess voltage from damaging the camera. Better safe than sorry. |
