Took this tonight with the moon pretty high in the sky. Don't think I have ever seen it this color unless it was on the horizon during moon rise or moon set. Must be the western forest fires.

Yes, smoke causes that effect. It makes sunrises and sunsets interesting too, by filtering out a lot of the blue end of the spectrum. |

I took a shot of the moon for the nursery rhymes challenge and color was pretty similar. Like yours, it had been taken with the moon high in the sky. |
