Just came across cloud backup service from Amazon for $0.01 per GB per month.
They do have access charges but its still pretty cheap for cloud backup.

Complete pricing and details - //aws.amazon.com/glacier/pricing/

Thinking about giving it a try!

Interesting. But the location options from the drop down seem awfully limited

Yes, it does seem to cater mostly to the US market.

Although I don't know what it means by region (mostly data center locations?), my guess is you should be able to store from anywhere but your speed might be limited based on how far you are from that region.

You're quite right, and it's important to remember that they also charge for transfers and certain types of file transactions. But it's a very fair model, especially for those who need to store a lot of stuff, and rarely retrieve it.

Doesn't it get old thinking the Man is always out to get you? ;)

Hey, just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me! ;-)

You know, cloud storage is a great way to get an off-site backup without the hassle of buying extra hardware and periodically running those backups. If I were concerned over the security of the files in the cloud (and I am), I'd consider encrypting them prior to upload. Let 'em mine data from that.

My philosophy is I can't stop them even if I wanted to, so might as well get as much out of the deal as I can.

(Despite all my rage) I am still just a rat in a cage. Woot! More cheese, just have to give a blood sample! Be right back!

and again Africa has to pay 1000x more whilst earning 1000x less...
Man we need some politicians and businesses that work with us and not for themselves on the dark continent.
Any positions in the States for a hard working web designer/developer with a passion for photography?
