impressive how he lined up the main focus of each shot when he put it together so it wasnt jumpy.

i would kill to live in a photogenic area like that, the US sucks for beautiful architecture.

Wow... I've done a few timelapses and know how much work they can be to put together. That was one of the best I've seen.

Those extreme-movement timelapses are often referred to as "hyperlapses"... I guess reference to the hyper-movement. Post processing has gotten so insane, I guarantee he used stabilization effects on those shots. Impossible to otherwise align them that well in camera.

So, for the uninformed... is this still shots or video? And how do you do that awesome 3-D effect?

if you read the comments he gives insight and said he used stabilization software.

still shots. i thinks the product of the procedure.

Kelli may have been referring to the 'vertigo' effect that was in some of the shots. Basically the camera zooms to keep one object as a static size in the view while the camera dollies forward or away from the object.

Moscow is one of the least photogenic cities I have ever visited. The quality of these images says much more about the photographer than the city.

Other than Red Square I didn't see any architecture that you couldn't find in the US. That said, I could have missed some. I did fast forward through most of it, mainly because it was boring. I guess I'm the only one who has grown tired of time-lapse videos set to annoying music. How much longer will this fad last?

Well it's not about the music actually...guess you didn't find the time-lapse video interesting either just like Yanko.

Found it rather boring. It is nothing new. And I commented on the music as the original post said to make sure you had your speakers on. That has been removed now.

What I found rather fascinating about this video is the motion of the camera moves at a "normal" speed but the motion of the environment runs at warp speed. I found that effect kind of addicting. The choice of music puzzled me. Hmmmmm.

I visited Moscow many years ago (actually to ride horses) and I just don't remember the city being that clean. I must have visited during a more grungy week.

Cool video...thanks for posting!

I am glad some people enjoyed it at least. I did also including the music. I was quite in awe but then maybe...I am not used to anything obviously. But I don't care...It was for fun and I just wanted to share it. But I have removed it so it won't bore anybody else and the music wont irritate anyone anymore.

Hmmmmm...I would have thought Freddy Krueger would have thicker skin. How silly to remove the link just because someone thought it was boring. Next time, I guess you should post a warning that we are only allowed to watch it if we love it.

Here's a link for those who missed it:

Linky to Moscow Video

I always enjoy Yanko's opinion even when it differs from my own...:-D

(The crappy music really doesn't match the flavor of the city though...sorry, Freddy!)

Thanks, Mae. I can't watch anything from my phone at work so I mark threads for when I get home.
