The first one is quite intriguing... the other two don't appeal too much.

Commented on image for that one.

Good way to spend a rainy, boring, wet Sat afternoon! LOL We've got a rainy Sunday here and I'll be cleaning out fish tanks!

With the pic of baby (#3)would be great with a bit more light and more focus on the head.......diff though through glass, especially when fish/tadpoles are so small. What was the exif for the pics?

Hey, that almost looks like microscopic life. Where did you find these goodies? The first is cool those two pairs. You are going to have to educate me about these life forms. Glad to see you enjoying the afternoon. You are certainly doing more than I am.

added exif to details

it has rained so much this summer that we have had puddles large enough to sustain full life cycles. the kids began collecting them in jars so that we could actually watch the development. i've got the motivation now to go on and try to set up a shot a day...

i thought these were ok (and they were the best of the bunch), but i think i could have done better if it hadn't been drizzling.

the studio...

I like this one. Maybe get rid of the water drops if you take it again. And some more light. Try to aim a bit down to get rid of the edge of the glass. I still like it. Trying to think of things to make it better not being negative.
They sure a cute with their little legs sticking out.

yo! neggin' is the least of my concerns; i really appreciate you're taking the time to comment!

if i'm lucky, this guy/gal/how-do-ya-tell will be around for a few more shoots.

i'm hoping to hit the happy medium between a clinical shot and an artistic one (i know it's a stretch, trying to imagine somebody hanging a tadpole shot on their wall...lol). i know i'll be able to do this with better lighting. i was hoping to get some positive play off of the water drops and the bowl (as well as the position), but i still have some work to do. hopefully, i'll wind up with something like what you did with Pure and Simple

Hopefully, you will have plenty more shots of him/her. What do they eat? I remember catching tadpoles, turtles and baby catfish when I was a kid. I loved watching them grow. The only thing I had trouble keeping alive was baby birds. We even had a wild mink as a pet. My brother spotted him. He was being left behind by his family. His eye was infected with something so we took him to the vet and he stuck around afterwards.
Thanks for the complement.
