Wanted to drop in to say hello to everyone! Dallas is doing much better. Getting stronger every day! Therapy is going well, and he's actually enjoying it (YAY!).

The golf tournament went great! There were 20 teams who showed, and I think 20 hole sponsors! It was a great turn out!!!

Also, I wanted to say "THANK YOU" to those of you who sponsored the hole, and "THANK YOU" to everyone who has sent him gifts, cards, prayers, thoughts, support, and love! It is really appreciated and has not been forgotten. I have been so busy with everything during recovery, trying to spend time with the other kiddos so that they don't feel left out, getting all the information together to start the kids in homeschool (we are going to homeschool the two youngest, Dallas (5) and Mac (4), and now one of our daughters wants to as well Kiana (15), so it's been crazy trying to compare and find the right program, as well as fill out all the paperwork, etc) and many other things, that I just haven't been able to get around to here. The first time I picked my camera up since April 7th, was on May 25th for the golf tournament. After that, it's been here and there, but nothing much. I am hoping to be able to make some time soon for my photography.

Hope to be around here more often now! Have a great day everyone! And thank you all again for everything!!!!!

Hey awesome news Denielle, so happy for him and your whole family.

Enjoy the home schooling, they will surely learn a lot more at home than in our institutions.

It is so great to see all the people who care. Dallas is doing so much better. It seems that every day, he gets a little bit stronger.

And it took me a while to come to the realization that, he will never look the same, he will have limitations as he gets older, he will have difficulties in life that many of us don't have to face. But, he will never be alone in his journey. I will be with him every step of the way, as will his dad, his siblings, his family, his friends, and all his "new" friends he's made along the way (and hasn't even realized).

I'm not going to lie, there are days when it is so hard I just want to throw in the towel... I just want to give up... but then I snap back into reality and I think to myself... Dallas is a gift... whether he be a gift from God (as I believe) or whatever else... he is our gift. He needs love, he needs compassion, he needs us to believe in him... and I won't give up on him. EVER.

I keep telling myself, EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. Perhaps I will never know the reason this happened. But what I do know is that it has changed our entires lives; and it has changed it for the better.

AND... before this happened, Dallas said he wanted to be a soldier. NOW, Dallas wants to be an Army Doctor (he says).

Me: Dallas, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Dallas: An Army Doctor
Me: Why?
Dallas: So I can save all the soldiers from dying.

How amazing is that? What five year old thinks about saving other people's lives? Really? He continues to inspire me every day! :)

I've been following the Dallas journals every day when possible and that little one's spirit never fails to amaze me! I'm so glad the staple that was bothering him is finally out, it looked like a real monster, Dallas was very brave once again. His latest quote about wanting to save dying soldiers actually made me well up a bit. You have a remarkable little boy, I hope he continues to improve, I can't believe how much better his face looks every time a new photo is posted! <3

Great news, thanks for keeping us updated Denielle - And thanks as well for keeping the journal up to date so we could check how Dallas was progressing.

I know it's not over yet, but it's fantastic that you're all sounding so upbeat.
