Hi all!

Need some memory card advice--
I recently purchased a couple D800s (well...back in Feb actually, but they're just now arriving) and I've decided to buy some new memory cards. I've only used CompactFlash, but the D800 supports that and SDHC. Back in my day (hehehe), CF had clear advantages, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

I'm looking at two options:
32 GB Extreme Pro SDHC, and
32 GB Extreme CF

The SD card, which seems to be faster, is less than the slower CF card (whereas the Extreme Pro version of the CF is almost twice as much!). Is there some advantage to the CF card that warrants the price difference? Any insights would really be appreciated! Thanks!

i own both, but I have not looked into the specs to that degree. I needed something that would be close enough to top of the line in terms of speed. They write side by side in my camera and neither has been a source of pain as far as write speed is concerned.

I can't speak for the details on paper, but either card will do well in field practice.

I hear CF are considered more "reliable and durable" and hence preferred. Apparently at one time they also got better max speed than SD. Not sure if its still true, but its irrelevant far as i m concerned because both write fast enough for any application I've put em through... and i shoot some Judo and Track (lotas continuous non stop clicks.)

Either will work, CF will take a lil more damage, good luck!

Sandisk Extreme Pro CF is faster than SDHC, but not significantly so.
